Questions about ETIAS Program
The proposed system is called the US. The Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is based on a similar visa-free system used by the United States, ESTA. The purpose of this system is to collect information on travellers currently travelling without a visa to the European Union and to ensure that persons with security problems are identified before they can travel to Schengen countries.
The main objective of the EU is to ensure the external and internal security of EU citizens through a central system for issuing travel documents to EU visitors and controlling their movements within the EU. The Schengen area.
Almost all EU member states are also part of the Schengen area. Not all EU countries are part of the Schengen area, not to mention the EU, and not all Schengen countries are part of the EU! Britain and Ireland, for example, are in the UK (Britain is still fair), but not in Schengen. Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Liechtenstein are all members of Schengen, but not of the EU.
The Schengen Area, which has 26 members, was created to allow the free movement of people within the area beyond national borders. However, it contains common rules on who can visit, work, live and study in the area and the length of their stay.
ESTA still allows some control over who can enter the United States, but reduces the bureaucracy associated with applying for a full visa. ESTA holders are currently authorized to spend a maximum of 90 days on an actual trip to the United States. If visitors wish to stay longer, they must still apply for a full visa.
Canada has also recently implemented a very similar visa waiver system for ESTA and the proposed ETIAS, called eTA.
Cash registers at a time when the revenues of the European Commission have been drastically reduced. If, as has already been proposed, each ETIAS applicant has to pay 7 euros, the revenue forecast for 2021 could reach 200 million euros.
Questions about ETIAS Application
The current Schengen immigration rules are somewhat complex for both those who need a visa and those who do not. There are different rules for people who want to go to more than one Schengen state and depend on what they want to do locally. For those who are not in Schengen but live in another EU. Country There are no entry or movement restrictions in the area. This includes Great Britain and Ireland.
Modification of the system would allow third-country nationals on an approved list of countries to apply for ETIAS and pay the required fare at least 96 hours before the planned trip. These include Americans, Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders and many others who are considered less risky and currently do not need a visa.
The question of whether British visitors to the Schengen area will also have to apply for ETIAS once Britain is no longer officially a member of the EU has not yet been established and will certainly become one in the context of British Brexit negotiations with other EU Member States.
NATIONALITIES THAT CAN APPLY FOR AN ETIAS VISA:

A small percentage of applications may take up to four weeks if additional documents are requested from the applicant. If your ETIAS has not yet been approved and you do not have another travel authorization, you cannot enter a country in the European Union.
